About Eastwood

Eastwood was designed and developed by William A. Wilson, who also developed the Woodland Heights. Lots went on sale in 1912 and the subdivision opened in 1913, planned from the start with paved streets, sidewalks, city utilities and landscaped esplanades. Today it has one of Houston's largest collections of Craftsman, Arts and Crafts, Foursquare and Mission-style homes, shaded by live oaks and sycamores.

The Eastwood Civic Association hosts an annual historic home tour. Eastwood Park and its community center on Harrisburg Boulevard have a pool, sports field, playground, trail and skate park, and the METRORail Green Line stops at the Lockwood/Eastwood station.

Buying an Older Home

Many Eastwood homes are about 100 years old. We look closely at the foundation, plumbing, wiring, roof and any past updates, and we recommend a full inspection, including a sewer line scope. Renovated bungalows and new builds sell quickly, so it helps to be pre-approved before you tour.

Eastwood Schools

Eastwood is served by Houston ISD. Zoned schools vary by address, so always confirm the school assignment for a specific home with HISD.
